Champions Trophy: South Africa Call Up All-Rounder Corbin Bosch to Replace Injured Anrich Nortje

South Africa has named all-rounder Corbin Bosch as a replacement for Anrich Nortje in their squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Nortje was ruled out of the tournament after suffering a back injury last year. Initially, young talent Gerald Coetzee was considered as his replacement. However, the team faced another setback when Coetzee, the premier all-rounder, was ruled out due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the SA20 tournament.

Now, 30-year-old pacer Corbin Bosch has been added to the squad for the prestigious event, set to begin on February 19.

Bosch made his international debut in December last year against Pakistan, playing just one ODI and one Test match in his brief international career.

Along with Bosch’s addition, South Africa has also named Kwena Maphaka as a traveling reserve for both the tri-nation series and the Champions Trophy 2025. The pair, along with batter Tony de Zorzi, will depart for Pakistan today to join the South Africa squad for the remainder of the single-league tournament.

South Africa will kick off their Champions Trophy campaign against Afghanistan on Friday, February 21, at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
