West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite is determined to make a strong comeback in the second Test against Pakistan, aiming to level the series after a tough first match. Speaking at a press conference at Multan Cricket Stadium, Brathwaite emphasized the importance of resilience and confidence as his team prepares for the challenges posed by spin-friendly conditions in Pakistan.

Reflecting on the difficulties of the pitch in the first Test, Brathwaite shared, “The players need to trust themselves and play courageously. The goal is to put up a bigger score this time and win the match to level the series.”

Brathwaite also confirmed the return of veteran fast bowler Kemar Roach to the squad, adding much-needed experience to their bowling attack. The captain acknowledged that Pakistan has been utilizing their home advantage with spin-friendly tracks, but he remains optimistic about his team’s preparations. “We are aware of the challenges these spinning pitches pose, but we’ve worked hard and are ready to face them,” he said.

The skipper also praised Jomel Warrican, the left-arm spinner who performed admirably in the first Test. Brathwaite expressed confidence that Warrican would continue to shine, adding, “Warrican bowled brilliantly in the first Test, and we expect him to deliver a strong performance in the second match as well.”

The second Test will take place in Multan tomorrow, January 25.
