Pakistan Batter Saim Ayub Vows to Recover Soon

“The doctors are doing everything they can to ensure my recovery,” says Saim Ayub.

Opening batter Saim Ayub, who is currently receiving treatment in London, has expressed his determination to recover as quickly as possible.

Speaking from London, Saim shared his thoughts, saying, “I don’t know how long it will take for me to fully recover, but I am doing my best.” He also acknowledged the efforts of the medical team, stating, “The doctors are making every effort to ensure my recovery.”

Addressing the high expectations placed on him following his two centuries, Saim emphasized that no single player is solely responsible for a team’s success. “Winning requires the entire team to work together. I ask the nation to pray for my complete and speedy recovery,” he said.

Earlier reports revealed that assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, who had traveled with Saim to London after his injury during the Cape Town Test, has now returned to Multan, leaving Saim to continue his treatment alone.

Saim Ayub is recovering from a fractured right ankle, which he sustained during the second Test against South Africa. While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to confirm his participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy, his recovery is being closely monitored.

The young opener has been in exceptional form, recently displaying his talent during international tours. Over the past two months, he has scored three ODI centuries and an unbeaten 98 in T20Is, earning him the Player of the Series title in Pakistan’s historic 3-0 ODI sweep against South Africa.
